High Flow Vents

High flow brass mesh vents provide up to 10 times more passive ventilation than terracotta vents. It helps to ensure even cross flow ventilation of fresh (outside) air to all areas of the subfloor.

Where existing vents do not provide enough air flow or are otherwise inadequate they are replaced with high flow vents. These are available in a variety of colours to match your existing brickwork or render. Replacement passive vents are professionally installed to ensure a neat & clean job. We take much care to match the existing mortar colour & clean the urrounding brickwork of all excess sand & cement.

Heritage Vents

Heritage vents are often installed when improving ventilation below terrace houses in inner Sydney suburbs. Installations are common whether customers want to retain the original look of the building or due to heritage listing restrictions.

While not as efficient as high flow vents, our heritage vents provide better passive ventilation than terracotta vents. Better too than any other heritage vent design tested. Heritage vents are available in silver or black.

Louvered Vents

Louvered vents are installed where building are exposed to extreme weather (such as beach front properties). They’re also common in proximity to sprinkler systems, in situations where buildings are adjoining public land. Louvered vents are used to prevent visual access of stored goods or where a more modern look is required.

Louvered vents are not as efficient as high flow vents. They are usually installed as part of a ventilation system that includes mechanical ventilation fans. Louvered vents are available in silver, white or black. We can also install louvered vents in most Dulux or British Paints colours to match your existing render.

How does under floor ventilation work?

The process is quite simple, as sub-floor ventilation systems operate in the same fashion as roof ventilation. Fans assist in extracting damp stale air, allowing dry, fresh air to permeate your underfloor areas to keep them fresh.

The system consists of pumps/fans and moisture resistant ducting. Our systems feature the latest in noise insulation technology and are highly efficient. We offer subfloor ventilation Sydney residents require in order to prevent moisture from entering their home.

We aim to achieve the following results with every sub floor installation:

  • Tailor Made Design
  • Low Running Cost
  • Low Noise
  • Long Term Reliability with Low Maintenance
  • Aesthetically Pleasing
  • Fully Compliant with Australian Standards

Our ducts are made from PVC/PFC which has excellent moisture resistance. This helps you to maximize service life and longevity in damp environments. We also install a range of energy saving solutions alongside our fans, such as timers. These limit the running times in order to save you money and ensure optimal results.

Is sub-floor ventilation necessary in Australia?

Australia has a hot climate, and many regions are prone to high humidity as well as storms. These factors contribute to high levels of moisture within the soil beneath your home. This often leads to the major issue of damp floors and walls. This can begin to affect the structural integrity of your home, increase your risk of termite infestation and put the health and safety of your family at risk due to mould growth.

For the above reasons, sub-floor ventilation is considered a necessary application for homes within Australia. It will reduce humidity and moisture levels in order to maintain a dry, clean and fresh environment. This will save you money by extending the lifespan of your property and protecting the health of your family.

Many older homes were built without sub-floor ventilation. The good news is that Extract Air can still design and install a system for you. Many homeowners only become aware of mould/moisture issues when they have already taken hold. An appropriate under house ventilation system can provide early warning.

Common signs that you might require under floor ventilation include rising damp, family members experiencing ongoing asthma attacks and allergies, mould, discoloured/rotting walls or floorboards and more. We will visit your home and design a comprehensive plan of attack to stop the problem once and for all.

No one should have to put up with rising damp, mould and uncomfortable living conditions.

Exhaust fan installations from Extract Air can significantly improve your standard of living. Protect the structural integrity of your home and the health and safety of your family by picking up the phone and contacting us today. We look forward to assisting you.
